Principal's Message

"As we change and grow over the course of the year, we will push ourselves to be risk-takers and we will track and celebrate our progress. Our work together will result in infinite opportunities for our students to grow as learners and as global citizens."

Dear Students and Family Members of the MLC Community,

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the MLC website! It is our hope that the site conveys some of the spirit and enthusiasm that our students and faculty have for our studies at MLC. We invite you to explore and to picture yourself a part of our school community.

Each year at MLC, we adopt a theme to guide our work for the year. Our theme for the 2017-2018 school year is Connectedness. Our work together will result in infinite opportunities for our students to grow as learners and as global citizens.

One of the most important changes of the year is our transition to the practice of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in grade 11. Over the past two years, MLC has developed more robust college preparation curriculum, engaged in rigorous professional development, and worked to clearly define assessment standards in preparation for this, our first year as an authorized IB Diploma Programme World School.  This program is recognized globally for its high standard of rigor and the way in which students are provided with opportunities to stretch beyond their preconceived limits. I am excited to have the opportunity to lead MLC into this next phase of excellence.

Throughout the year, we invite parents and community members to communicate proactively with the MLC faculty and staff. Through the development of strong home-school-community partnerships, we can ensure that each student has the support and accountability the he or she needs to reach new heights. We will communicate regularly and proactively throughout the school year regarding student progress and community activities.

I look forward to a great year!
